Starting Race Three of the V8 Ute Racing Series from sixth position today, Erebus Academy driver Adam Marjoram was hopeful of a podium finish at Sandown Raceway, however a lap one incident thwarted his efforts.

Needing to pit to make minor repairs, Marjoram returned to the race ultimately finishing a lap down in 23rd position.

The #5 Auto One Ute driver is undeterred, keen to make amends next month at Bathurst and continue his Championship fight.

“We started the race well today, we’ve nailed the starts all weekend actually,” said Marjoram.

“I went around the outside of people into Turn One and I was up to third, then I got fenced by another competitor.

“He pushed me into the railing which bent my steering and punctured my front left tyre.

“My pit crew did a great job getting the car back into shape and I only went one lap down, which was really good considering the damage to the car.

“We came into this round second in the points standings behind [Ryal] Harris, and unfortunately now I have lost a lot of points to him.

“But there are still three rounds to go in the season so we’re going to keep our chins up.

“We’ve shown great car speed all year, I just hope we don’t repeat the back luck we’ve had here at Sandown.”

The fellow Erebus Motorsport-prepared V8 Utes of Craig Dontas and Kim Jane finished Race Three in seventh and 11th places respectively.

Adam enjoys the support of Auto One, Valvoline, SuperCharge Batteries, Nova 937, SP Tools, Everblast, and Ringwood Mazda.
